Busking in the streets of New York by day and playing out in the city’s vast DIY scene by night, garage rocker Lily Mao has hammered out a niche in Brooklyn’s indie-rock community with their gritty recordings and vibrant stage personality. The Scranton Pennsylvania native moved to Brooklyn in 2018, where they formed a power duo with producer and bandmate Nate Jasensky. Playing stages like Rough Trade, Mercury Lounge, and Knitting Factory, the band became a 4 piece with the addition of Tui Jordan on bass and Gabby Borges on drums. Lily Mao and The Resonaters released a 6 song EP on February 10th via A Diamond Heart Production titled “Human Being Animal.” The EP was featured on Apple Music’s “New in Rock” as well as their “New in Alternative” Playlist, as well as glowingly reviewed by The Deli Magazine, New Noise Magazine, Full Time Aesthetic, and more.
